Collaborating on Google Docs

Over the past week, each student has been using Google Docs to write their daily journal entries. In order to do this, students have learned how to log-on to the computers, sign on to their Google accounts, and create a new Google Doc. This has not been easy, but with practice, they have been getting better and faster at this task. Today, we took it one step further and collaborated on a Google Doc together. Here is a copy of the work we did.

3 Piggy Opera

On Monday, the first graders performed their play "The Three Piggy Opera". They did such a wonderful job. Here are a few pictures from the performance as well as a link to view the show!

Meeting Farmer Johnson

To kick off our egg project, Farmer Johnson came in to talk to us about chickens, roosters and the egg hatching process. We had a great time learning information about what it is like to be a farmer. We now have 12 eggs incubating in our classrooms! They should hatch in 21 days :-)

Relax Reading on a Friday afternoon

Every Friday, students are able to choose a spot throughout the room to read. They can choose whatever books they wish to look at, as long as they are reading. We have been very busy lately, and haven't been able to Relax Read in a while. Today students were able to pick new spots and enjoyed the afternoon reading. Check out some of our readers!
