Raney's Rock Stars: Week 32

This week we had a fabulous concert! Congrats to Ms. Dale and all of our third graders for their hard work and dedication. It was beautiful to see them come together for such a wonderful performance. They sure have been working hard. Special recognition to two of our very own students for creating the music which accompanied our Forest Friday song. We ended our week with Growing Change in our school garden this week. Growing Change has been teaching our students about energy.

Raney's Rock Stars: Week 31

Field trip to the HOP, finishing up our SBAC assessments and spending time in the forest; that's how we spent our week.

Raney's Rock Stars: Week 30

We began our next math unit on polygons.

Testing a magnet's force, making the paperclip levitate.

Sometimes we Seesaw in the weirdest ways...

Bring your bike to school any Thursday and students can ride them during recess.

Testing our personal limits this week in a new section of the woods.

So proud of one of our very own rockstar! He was recognized for his outstanding picture, which will be featured in the 2020 Casella calendar. His picture was 1 of 13 chosen out of 320 applicants.

Raney's Rock Stars: Week 29

This week had a very interesting beginning. What started out as a normal morning recess, led to the discovery of a lower section in the woods that had flooded. Of course, we had to go check it out first hand. So we ventured down the path and through the woods to the flooded terrain. It was a world of discovery and wonder. Students were so excited to explore that we knew we would have to come back again soon.

Later in the week, we began SBAC testing for the first time. Although these tests are demanding and can be overwhelming at times, your letters of encouragement, as well as some delicious snacks, made the test much more bearable. Thank you all for your continued support.

Raney's Rock Stars: Week 28

This week was a wonderful week for students. Each student has been learning about the history of one of Hartford's five villages. Over the past few months, they have been collecting historical information. Each village worked together to create an individual or small group slideshows to showcase their findings. This week, each student presented their information to members of the other four villages. These presentations were completely student-led. Everyone did a great job public speaking and being an active group member.
