Pirate Day Fun!

We had a blast the Friday before vacation. Students came to school thinking we were going to be dressing as pirates...little did they know Mr. D and the Otter would be "captured" by pirates and the only way to save him was to complete 4 math tasks to solve 4 clues. The K-2 team and the 3-5 team had each planned out mini adventures and activities for their groups. Groups of students moved from classroom to classroom, solving clues along the way. We ended with an all-school assembly to "crack the code" and save Mr. D and our beloved Otter. Here are a few pictures from our day :-)

Students have been very busy writing their own narrative pieces. With final drafts being completed each day, students have also been using iPads with the app VoicePro to record their stories.
