Farm Unit: We're On Our Way
Students have been working very hard every day to create farm maps. They each have to budget their money and plan wisely. All first grade students have been working together during this math time!
Farmer Johnson Comes To Visit
Every year, Farmer Johnson from Tunbridge, VT comes to visit DBS. He brings along a few chickens for us to meet, as well as a dozen eggs for us to incubate at our school. We had a great time learning more about chickens. Students loved hearing the rooster crow and getting up close with some new baby chicks!
Cup-A-Phone
Next, students worked in partners to create a cup-a-phone to communicate. Students had to work together and decide which variable they were going to change in the second round of this experiment. Afterwards, they had to explain how their variable affected the effectiveness of the cup-a-phone.
