Matter and So Much More

This week we began our science unit on Matter. We discussed what matter was, and the three different states of matter. To begin this unit, we joined classes and introduced the topic together. We then classified objects by solids, liquids and gases. The following day, we conducted a science experiment using ice balloons. We predicted what would happen to the ice once heat was applied. We had great science discussions around our predictions and compared those predictions to the results of our test. Feel free to ask your child to name a solid, liquid or gas around them. Most of us are starting to classify objects on our own.
