Week of November 2

We went snow to sun within the week. Monday presented the most challenging weather we have experienced so far with gusty winds and snow. I was impressed with everyone's tolerance and we all enjoyed an hour inside to warm up. By the end of the hour, students were restless and ready to venture back outside. Thank you to all of you for attending our virtual parent-teacher conferences. It was wonderful spending time with you and chatting about your kiddo. By the end of the week, we enjoyed sunny mornings and temperatures reaching the mid-sixties. In addition to math and reading groups, students took the time to prepare our classroom for winter. We added to our stone pathway and collected a lot of starter wood for our fire. It was another wonderful week in the woods.

Here are some questions to spark conversation:

1. How do you play Target 100?

2. What are some changes you have noticed in the forest?

3. Who is the main character in your reading book this week? What is happening in the story?

4. Our school theme this month is spreading positive ripples. What does that mean? How can you spread ripples of kindness?

5. What surprising find did we discover in the woods this week? (ask about the deer)

Here are some pictures from the week:

In Spanish this week we focused on Dia De Los Muertos (The Day of the Dead)
